Since I work for a company who's backbone relies on the internet - well, I'm a big fan in general. But as a 30-something I also fall in this weird segement of the population that vividly remembers the days before the internet but still tries to embrace all the new things coming at us every.single.day. I'm amazed that our kids growing up today will look at us with strange glances when we try to explain that the internet is still relatively new in big scheme of things. Somehow I have this story in my head now...you know the "I used to carry a hot potato in my bag while I trudged through 10 feet of snow to get to school"....I think we've all heard some version of that story.
Anyhow...I digress. So here's the thing - for months I have been the one doing the strange glances at some of my friends when they go on and on about MySpace and Facebook and similiar sites. I just didnt get it at all and the times I had looked at MySpace pages they just seemed like classified ads and just a bad idea in general. Well....thanks to my good friend Geoff who invited me to join his group of friends on Facebook - I'm totally hooked! In just a matter of a few weeks I have already "found" so many people from high school and college its crazy! People who I never in a million years would have gotten back in touch with & many times people who I have thought about from time to time and wondered how they were. It's just really fun! I have my blog linked to my FaceBook pages so maybe some of you reading this are my FaceBook friends - if so...HI and its really nice to be back in touch :) (Even some of you who have changed their names - you know who you are!) HA!
